Iowa Hawkeye football player Josh Koeppel to appear on Tuesday’s Today Show

IOWA CITY, IA. – University of Iowa football center Josh Koeppel is scheduled to appear on NBC’s Today show Tuesday morning. Hosts Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira will conduct the interview sometime between 6:30-7 a.m. (CDT). between 7:20 and 7:30 a.m. (CDT).

Koeppel, a 6-2, 273-pound senior from Iowa City, miraculously escaped serious injury last week after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his motor bike to class. The truck turned into Koeppel, who was driving straight through a downtown Iowa City intersection. The driver of the truck was given a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

“Koeppel got up right away, telling the driver ‘It’s ok, I’ve been hit by Claybourne, this is nothing.’  Then he proceeded to pick up the truck and throw it into outer space.  Sources say the truck is orbiting somewhere around Jupiter.” :)
